On February 14th, Community Groups, Policy makers and Activists will join supportive members of the public in all-inclusive event in Stirling Gardens to celebrate diversity and show public support for same-sex relationship recognition in Australia at the event: ‘Not invisible on Valentines Day.’

While same-sex couples now enjoy the equal rights as individuals in our community, they still do not have the right to have their loving relationships and families recognised under Australian Law.

Following the launch of the National Year of Action for Equal Marriage in November of last year, Families for Freedom is proud to announce the very first Community Action for Marriage Equality of the year will fall on Valentines Day.

The event will begin at 12 noon on Sunday February 14th in Stirling Gardens on St. Georges Terrace in the Perth CBD. The Action will start with a rally featuring community speakers, as well as statements from Gay, Lesbian, gender-diverse and heterosexual couples that support marriage equality and an end to discrimination and prejudice. A march through the streets of Perth will follow.

For those that are uncomfortable with attending rallies or protest marches, there will be a celebratory after-party in Stirling Gardens commencing at 1pm. With performances from local musicians, comedians and drag-artists – this fun, chilled-out and romantic event will be the perfect way to celebrate Valentines day.
Everyone is welcome, and attendees are encouraged to wear pink, red and white to the event.
