Some of Perth's hidden history will be revealed at the second annual Northbridge History Studies Day to be held in in May.
Speakers at the studies day will include historians, community leaders and others who have acquired important knowledge about the historic precinct.
A range of academic and community-based presentations will explore different areas of Northbridge's history, reflecting the complexity and diversity of its development.
Much of the material to be presented has never previously been publicly available.
The studies day is being staged by the Northbridge History Project, in association with the City of Perth, the Town of Vincent and the History Council of Western Australia and will be held at Central TAFE on Sunday, 18 May.
The Northbridge History Studies Day was established in 2007 to allow some of the hidden histories of Northbridge to be documented and shared.
Among the speakers on the day will be Professor Geoffrey Bolton, Dr Bobbie Gordon, Peter Conole, Dr Noel Nannup, Dr Christine Chew, Marcus Canning and Richard Offen.

A secondary school in Thailand is in the news for installing toilets designated for use by transgendered students. Thai education authorities estimate that more than 15 per cent of male students in the country identify as gay or transgendered. More here.
